|Sep 13, 2017||RANGER DISTRICT OPENING UP CAMPING SITES ON MT. GRAHAM||
As of Thursday, the Safford Ranger District has adjusted the closures of camping areas on Mt. Graham.|
A number of recreation sites will open while other remain closed for the public for safety reasons.
Opening to the public will be: the Grand Hill forest area beginning at the intersection of Swift Trail and Lower Hospital Flat road and the intersection of
Treasure Park Road and Spur road, that proceeds southwest to Big Creek.
Several other areas will be open for camping and picnicing this weekend.
Remaining closed areas include: Several Grant Hill Loop Trails, Grant Creek trail #305, Webb Peak trail #345, Ash Creek trail #307, Ash Creek detour trail #307A, and Frye Canyon Trail #36.
The Forest Service will continue to open other areas on Mt. Graham as they continue forest restoration work until April 15, 2018.
